Why yoga? Yoga is a perfect complement to climbing.

First Ascent offers more than just world-class climbing. We’ve gathered an outstanding crew of expert yogis to lead over 30 classes per week. Each of our locations is equipped with a full service yoga studio.

Why yoga? Yoga is a perfect complement to climbing, and we believe that the climbing and yoga communities have so much to gain from interacting with each other. Both climbing and yoga require a focused, present mind and a strong, flexible body. Both ask you to tune in and leave behind the noise of a busy day or the thoughts of what’s to come tomorrow. And both leave you stronger, wiser, and better equipped to handle the challenges that lie ahead.

The core of our yoga program is Vinyasa (described below), but we also offer other yoga styles to help you explore the diverse nature of yoga practice. Here are just a handful of unique classes that might interest you:

  • Vinyasa Flow: Vinyasa Yoga consists of sequential, fluid-like transitions between sustained yoga postures. Connecting breath with body movement works to cultivate an internal awareness of both our physical and mental capacities. This class is designed for yogis looking for a challenging session that stretches and strengthens the body and mind alike.
  • Yoga For Climbers: Strength, flexibility, balance and control are all essential qualities of efficient rock climbers. This class will focus on yoga postures specifically tailored to enhance rock climbing technique across these areas and more.
  • AcroYoga: AcroYoga blends the wisdom of yoga, the dynamic power of Acrobatics, and the loving kindness of Thai Massage. These three ancient lineages form the foundation of a unique practice that cultivates trust, connection, and playfulness. Learn to go upside down and have fun with the support of a community in a safe environment. No partner necessary.
  • Yoga Sculpt: a Vinyasa Flow yoga class that incorporates hand weights and cardio bursts to provide a full body workout.

We also host monthly special yoga workshops to help you push your yoga practice to the next level or seek recovery and renewal.
