Establishing a solid basecamp is key to the success of any mountaineering expedition. Similarly, a strong functional and athletic foundation will help you reach your fitness goals, whether you’re aiming to climb mountains, send your next project, or simply to become the strongest, fittest, leanest version of you.
We built First Ascent from the ground up to bring world-class climbing to our local community. When it comes to fitness, there are many popular programs out there. But many of them are expensive, or they focus more on marketing and gimmicks rather than real results, or they are not tailored to real people with a broad range of athletic ability. So we partnered with premier fitness coaches to design and build a fitness program from the ground up, offering small group training at a fraction of the cost of personal training or other popular group fitness alternatives.
Approachable. We designed Basecamp to unlock your inner athlete, whether you’re new to fitness, a weekend warrior, or an experienced athlete. We believe in athletic training to achieve athletic results—an athletic physique and athletic performance.
Affordable. Our goal with Basecamp is simple—we take some of the best functional fitness coaches in the city and make them available to our members at a fraction of what their services go for elsewhere.

Functional. Basecamp coaches will use a mixture of kettlebells, barbells, dumbbells, bands, sandbags, dynaballs, and many more functional implements to produce significant strength, physique, and performance gains.
Progressive. Basecamp athletes will train under the watchful eye of our expert coaches, who are well-versed in tweaking the daily programming to scale with needs of each individual athlete, helping you progress at the right pace to attain balanced, full-body fitness for life’s many adventures.
