Climbing is dangerous. All visitors are required to fill out a waiver before entering climbing, fitness, or training areas of the facility.
Children under the age of 14 must be supervised by an adult at all times. Active supervision means maintaining a line of sight at all times, spotting your child as s/he boulders, and ensuring that s/he is respectful of other climbers.
Be aware of your surroundings. Do not stand, sit, or walk below other climbers.
Every fall is a ground fall when bouldering. The pad is meant as a last resort to protect falls. If at all possible, down climb instead of jumping down to the pad below.
When a fall cannot be avoided, practice effective falling technique: land feet first, then fall on your bottom or back. Landing on your feet is prone to ankle or knee injury. If you are unsure about proper falling technique, ask a First Ascent staff member.
Spotting is encouraged. Be sure to communicate with the climber you are spotting. If you are unsure about proper spotting technique, ask a First Ascent staff member.
A shirt and shoes must be worn at all times in the facility unless otherwise designated for an event or activity.
Notify First Ascent staff immediately if you see any unsafe activity.
Be respectful of our equipment and our community. If any behavior is deemed to be disruptive or inappropriate by First Ascent staff, you will be asked to leave without refund.
